The Cisco QSFP-100G-FR-S compatible QSFP28 100G-FR1 Optics is specifically designed for short-distance (2km) single-mode links, making it ideal for Medium-distance 100G interconnects in data centers, enterprise networks, and telecommunications carrier environments.

Features an EML transmitter and a PIN receiver, and is equipped with a high-performance Broadcom/Marvell DSP chip.

Operating at a wavelength of 1310nm (single-wavelength 100G 1310nm channel) and employing a Duplex LC/UPC single-mode connector, it provides point-to-point connectivity over link distances of up to 2km (using OS2 SMF fiber with FEC enabled).

It supports DDM/DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring).

Furthermore, due to the single-wavelength characteristic of the 100G-FR1 standard, it can be paired with 400G-XDR4 Optics—utilizing MTP/MPO-12 to 4xLC SMF fiber—to enable 4x100G FR1 breakout applications, thereby significantly enhancing operational efficiency and increasing flexibility.
